Summer Solstice Money “Magic”

Summer Solstice Money “Magic”

Published on June 21, 2023

Today is the summer solstice, and we have money “magic” on our minds.

Although our clients in every state are awesome, we also believe that New Orleans is one of the most magical cities in America. So let’s play make believe circa Marie Laveau; and share a few fun and mystical ways you can celebrate this special time in your life, while harvesting the energies of the waxing crescent moon for its money “magic.”

This is not a special time in your life you say? Sleep more, journal your dreams, and remember there will never ever be a moment like this one again. Get it? Special.

At the heart of many Latin & Louisiana creole superstitions, and some religions; is a goddess of African origins known as Oshun. Her Greek equivalent is Aphrodite. In Cuba, Catholics revere her as the Virgin of Charity of El Cobre. She likes peacock feathers, honey, oranges, the number 5, rivers, and perfume. She appreciates thoughtful gifts and will reward you for your attention.

Part 1 is optional & best completed in daylight:

Write a list of five great things you’d like to see happen in your business this year. If you have access to a river today (or any day, preferably a sunny one); take your list to the river and meditate on it. Then put just a little bit of honey in the river, only after tasting it first. Make sure you smell really good, and it couldn’t hurt to have a peacock feather around you. Gather 5 rocks from the river if you can (each one should be smooth & big enough to write a word on later).

Part 2 is optional & best begun when the waxing crescent moon is visible:

Meditate on your list again, while enjoying a warm citrus tea sweetened with honey. On each rock, write a single word that best summarizes each of your written desires. Place the rocks in a bowl of water and let it soak in the moonlight overnight. The next day, use the water in your garden, houseplants, or simply pour it into a patch of grass or trees outside of your home or workplace. Place the rocks in your workspace or near a mirror.

Part 3 works with or without parts 1 & 2, and should be done right away.

If you are a business owner, schedule your free assessment with our tax planning coordinator, Claire. July marks the beginning of the 3rd fiscal quarter. Start now; it’s not a matter of magic, but practicality.

Part 4 Requires decent taste in music and an actual imagination. (It also works with or without steps 1 & 2):

Teleport to New Orleans.
