Employing Your Spouse – Chapter 2 Of ISCPA’s Tax Savings E-Book

“Where are you?!” Googie screamed at me through the phone, while his mother chastised him in the background.

“Uh… living my life. What’s it to you?”

“You’re my WIFE, woman!” An enraged manchild switched into his thuggish alter-ego.

“Googie, it was a drunken drive-thru chapel in Vegas and it’s being annulled. I haven’t heard from you in eleven months. Have you forgotten telling me that we couldn’t be together until I lost my covid weight and got rid of my cats?!”

Googie’s voice softened as he changed his manipulation strategy.

“I know I said that sweetie, but I was only talking about intimacy and living together. My mom wants me to get a job, but you know I’m an artist. You don’t have to come back, just… send me some money.”

“I will not-”

“I still have the pictures,” Googie interrupted, “the videos too. I’ll share them online and everywhere.”

“Consistency is your only virtue. Give me twenty minutes, Googie. I am going to see what I can do. I’ll call you back.” Ending the call, I took a deep breath. I considered my options; my business goals, my trip, my projected revenues, and my current budget.

I immediately called Iryna Stepanchuk, CPA.

She wasn’t available but her assistant Karina was able to discuss the situation with her. They got back to me quickly with the financial bright side of the only option I could think of at the time.

According to Iryna’s email, employing my spouse could reduce my taxable income, increase my retirement contributions, lower my tax rate, and set up my family for a better future. While visualizing Googie as a part of my family legacy was as appalling as referring to him as my spouse – I chose optimism. Neville Goddard taught that the power of manifestation is in feeling into existence, the great reality that you’d otherwise desire.

I vibrated Googie being the prince that metamorphosed from a gutter frog. I allowed myself to feel relief that the massive revenue from my intergalactic staffing agency would benefit from tax breaks through my prince. Willfully forgetting that any blackmail material ever existed to be held against me; I picked up the phone to call my sweet prince.

“Googie, I’m hiring you…”

TO BE CONTINUED.
